Alyx Zauderer

Alyx’s work documents their life and friendships in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia from the 2010s to 2024. Alyx chronicles intimate conversations and human connection in all its forms through recurring sketched characters and shaky handwriting. A committed socialist, Alyx’s work reflects their unwavering belief in the human spirit and their boundless capacity to imagine and help build a society in which everyone’s flourishing and well-being is valued. Their later work mostly focuses on their time in the Brooklyn indie music scene, thoughtfully capturing the earnestness and unique sensibilities of the small arts community from 2021 to 2024.

In 2023, they founded the comics zine Grab Onto Dust and successfully edited and produced two issues of the zine by the end of 2024. The contributors-based project features comics by musicians, often encouraging audio artists to dabble in the medium of visual art for the first time. All proceeds from sales of the zine are donated to Palestinian relief efforts.

Alyx passed away in October of 2024 but their life lives on through their work, loved ones, and everyone fighting for a better world.
